Grade 9
Destreamed-Steam
STEAM programs are not to have teachers teach higher year courses. It is to teach the subject in more depth. STEAM students are required to join at least one club. Students in this program are also required to write math and science contests. The school library has high tech health care, VR, robotics, etc.

Group Work
Group work can be an effective method to motivate students, encourage active learning, and develop key critical-thinking, communication, and decision-making skills. But without careful planning and facilitation, group work can frustrate students and instructors and feel like a waste of time.

Designing the group activity
-
Identify the instructional objectives.
-
Make the task challenging.
-
Assign group tasks that encourage involvement, interdependence, and a fair division of labour.
-
Decide on group size.
-
Decide how you will divide students into groups.
-
Try to predict students’ answers.
Giving back to the community!
The grade 9 destreamed-steam classes grow plants throughout the year and on the last day of May each year they go to Downsview park and plant them.
